Galaxy S7 Rumours

It’s almost been a year since Samsung’s Galaxy S6 has been in production, so naturally, the Galaxy S7 rumour mill has been churning stronger than ever. Let’s take a moment to look at some of the things we’ve heard.

It is said–and extremely likely–that the Galaxy S7 will be, like the Galaxy S6, released with an Edge model as its sibling. They should both be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It’s strange, but it seems like the Galaxy S7 will feature a smaller 5.1 inch screen while the S7 Edge will have anywhere between a 5.5 inch and a 5.7 inch screen. However, apparently Samsung may also release a third variant: the Galaxy S7 Plus. We’re not quite sure that we’re ready to believe that Samsung is going to take on the “Plus” name, given that it would be reminiscent of Apple. It may be that sightings of the three differently sized devices are the result of various prototypes.

Resolutions should be remaining the same, but we’re not surprised. At this point, can screens really get any better while being discernable to the human eye? If there are no advancements in display resolution, we won’t be perplexed.

What we are interested in, though, is the rumours that VentureBeat was told about the newest Galaxy devices getting back the capability to expand memory externally. This would mean that consumers would again be able to utilize the gorgeous Samsung screens to its fullest potential through unlimited multimedia that can be added externally.

Unfortunately, it looks like removable batteries will not be making a comeback. However, rumours do say that the phones will feature much larger internal, embedded batteries. Will that be enough to persuade customers who swear by the power of external batteries, though?

The loss of water and dust resistance in the S6 lines really hit fans hard. If some of the rumours are correct, Samsung may have plans to bring this well-loved feature back to the S7 phones.

Interestingly enough, the camera is predicted to go from 16MP to 12MP. However, we all know that megapixels alone do not make for a great camera, so we’ll have to wait and find out what goodies Samsung has packed in order to make up for the lost MP.

The biggest three complaints that we’ve heard nonstop about the Galaxy S6 were:
Non-removable battery
Lack of external memory card capabilities
Loss of water and dust resistance

We’re sure that a lot of fans would return to the Galaxy phones without hesitation as long as Samsung were to bring these features back–while keeping the phones up to specifications, of course–but how possible are these ideas? Are they realistic and practical in any sense? We’ll just have to wait and see.
